Allows for TCP/IP LAN to Become a Seamless Extension of a Wide Area Network


Morning Star PPP can also be used to connect different computer sites to each other, providing the same functionality as Ethernet, but over a dialup or dedicated line. The software supports the current IETF PPP RFCs and includes SLIP and CSLIP.

PPP provides both low-speed demand-dial connections over standard async telephone lines by using the system's native async serial ports, and high-speed (up to T1/E1) synchronous connections over dedicated lines by using the Morning Star SnapLink. The PPP software includes documentation and a complete set of diagnostic and management tools to facilitate the installation, configuration, and administration of the communication link.
