Mesa was awarded the 1993 NeXTWORLD magazine Best of Breed award for Financial Modeling. Mesa includes palettized objects and an object library, MOLI, to enable custom programs to include spreadsheet functionality. Mesa also contains MScript, a powerful, easy-to-learn scripting language that harnesses the power of your spreadsheet. Mesa accepts real-time, real-world data from financial exhanges, medical instruments, data/telephone switches, and other services to allow analysis and reporting. Mesa has SQL functions to select, insert, and update information from SQL databases and a Visual Report Builder for professional-quality reports. Mesa has 2D and 3D chart types. Worksheets can contain any number of charts. Mesa has file compatibility with Excel 3.0, Lotus(R) 1-2-3, SYLK(R), and 20/20(R) and executes most Lotus macros, including bracketed and slash commands.
